QUICK LOOK: NO WEAPONS, NO ILLEGAL MERCHANDISE, NO COUNTERFEIT, NO BABY FURNITURE (cribs, high chairs, car seats, strollers + ETC), NO FOOD FOR CONSUMPTION. We sound tough, but it's the law and we work diligently to uphold it. Keep reading, please. By selling at our market you agree to follow our rules.
Call 847-524-9590 for the latest updates on restricted items based on local regulations in Palatine and Rosemont. Below is the most current list of restricted merchandise. In an effort that involves ongoing research & education by experts, Wolff's Flea Market strictly regulates the type of merchandise being sold. We follow local, state and federal laws to maintain a safe, family friendly environment. Please read the vendor rules on your permit AND the entire detailed list below to familiarize yourself with items that are banned from our market. Staff and management reserve the right to inspect merchandise, deem it as inappropriate and disallow it. Vendors will be directed to immediately and permanently remove restricted items. This means putting it AWAY, out of sight and access to the public. Your information will be recorded and a warning slip issued. If repeat offenses occur, you may not be allowed to sell with us in the future.
Patrollers regularly & randomly check for banned merchandise. Vendors not adhering to these rules or those who do not follow directions from staff to immediately and permanently remove banned merchandise from their spaces run the risk of not being allowed to sell at our market. Do not argue with staff. We appreciate your cooperation and self-monitoring of your own personal merchandise.
COUNTERFEIT: No counterfeit, trademark, copyright, license & logo violating/diluting merchandise (NEW or USED). Including but not limited to DVD’s, CD’s, Purses, Shoes, Clothing, Perfume, Sunglasses, Jewelry, ETC. Selling of counterfeit merchandise is punishable on federal and state levels with fines and imprisonment. THIS APPLIES TO NEW AND USED ITEMS. DO NOT BRING THIS MERCHANDISE TO OUR MARKET. We do not allow the sales of used or new authentic designer handbags & accessories as their authentication cannot be verified. "Google" counterfeit merchandise for more information on this subject. Unsure about your merchandise? Please call us to see if it is acceptable to us. While we are not experts, we attempt ongoing research on this subject. We MAY be able to answer your questions, however YOU are ultimately responsible for authhenticating your own merchandise and we cannot be held responsible. Please be aware that wholesalers (online or actual stores in the city), resale shops, garage sales, "a guy", storage sheds and online stores (ebay, importers, Craigslist) are not necessarily legitimate ways to obtain licensed/trademarked merchandise. Please be careful when purchasing even 1 type of new or used item. When in doubt we reserve the right to not allow you to sell it. We want our markets to remain a legitimate venue for small business entrepreneurs who offer great deals on great new and resale merchandise!
BANNED ITEMS: Alcohol, tobacco, fireworks, weapons and parts of weapons (guns, knives, air guns, swords (real, decorative or collectible), pellet guns, pellets, BB/air guns, paintball guns, crossbows, arrows, bows, pocketknives, ETC.). All toys guns new/used/collectible must have a permanently fastened orange tip which indicates that they are toys. No animal sales, ads for selling animals, drug paraphernalia, hookahs, pepper spray/mace, stun guns, used mattresses, X rated, pornographic material including but not limited to magazines and movies, items requiring prescriptions or controlled substances (e.g. pseudophedrine), contact lenses (prescription AND/OR cosmetic), novelty lighters (banned in Illinois), other illegal items. Other items can be banned at our discretion.
ANIMALS: Service animals are allowed. No sales of animals/pets are allowed. The posting of ads for animal sales is not allowed. Flyers will be destroyed.
BABY: Due to safety and recalls, we do not allow the sale of NEW or USED infant/child car & booster seats, cribs, crib mattresses, crib bumper pads, (illegal in Chicago, too), portable cribs, sleep positioning devices, bassinets, playpens, folding playpens, strollers, jogging strollers, highchairs, walkers, baby seats, clip/strap on table booster seats, bicycle seats, baby formula, ETC.
SERVICES & BROCHURES: No sale of catalog items or services that involve the exchange of money or collection of credit card information without the exchange of actual goods unless you have received pre-approval from Wolff's. We will require you to present your license or certification. No distribution of advertising or informational flyers on vehicles or in the aisles. No distribution of flyers by individuals who are not paid vendors of Wolff's. No prejudicial or discriminatory flyers allowed. Distribution and sales must be contained within your paid selling space. No parking lot sales. Raffles and tarot card readings are not allowed. You may hand out business related brochures at your booth and collect emails or phone numbers from customers if they choose to share with you.
TIRES: No sales of tires older than 6 years, used or new. Date of manufacture may be found on rim and indicates the week and year they were made. Example 1: "1509" means tire was made in the 15th week of 2009 and is acceptable. Example 2: "159" means tire was made in the 15th week of 1999 and is not acceptable.
FOOD: Due to contractual agreement and local health regulations, the sale of any food or concessions for consumption at the market, including, but not limited to beverages, hot food, home-made goods, sandwiches is prohibited. SMALL BUSINESS ENTREPRENEURS can enjoy a low rent, risk free location to introduce their new product to the marketplace when they set up a booth at Wolff's Flea Market. We've seen all sorts of inventions & creations: magic tricks, handmade soaps, salsa, olive oil, baby bottle holder, candles, roasted peppers, hot sauce, barbeque sauce, the Mycromat, handmade pottery, personalized books, origami, exercise DVDs, crafts and hand-made jewelry. NON-PROFIT GROUPS: If you are a registered non-for profit organization/charity 501(c)(3) and wish to set up a stand at the market for fundraising or awareness, please call us at 847-524-9590. Documentation is required, and your space may be free. All rules and restrictions apply. Currently more spaces are available in Palatine, however we also offer space in Rosemont. Examples of previous groups: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rotary Club, AIDS Foundation, Breast Cancer Walk, LifeSource Blood Drive, Little Mexico (current), pet rescue, community dance troupe.
